Orange-Glazed Five-Spice Chicken Drumettes
- 3/4 cup A.1. Original Sauce
- 1/3 orange marmalade
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1-1/2 Tbsp. gingerroot, minced
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tsp. orange zest Safeway 1 lb For $1.28 thru 02/09
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 Tbsp. five-spice powder
- 3 lb. chicken drumettes
- 4 iceberg lettuce leaves
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 qt. (4 cups) oil
- Bring first 6 ingredients just to boil in saucepan, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- Mix flour and seasoning in large bowl.
- Add chicken, in batches; toss to evenly coat.
- Heat oil in large deep skillet or saucepan on medium-high heat to 350F.
- Add chicken, in batches; cook 10 min.
- or until golden brown.
- Add to sauce; toss to coat.
- Serve on lettuce-covered plates topped with onions.
