Green Onion Pancake
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/2 cups Cold Water
- 1/2 cups Boiling Water
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 6 Tablespoons Oil For Spreading Over Pancake
- 1 teaspoon Salt For Sprinkling
- 1/2 bunches Green Onion, Finely Minced
- 6 Tablespoons Oil, For Frying
- Combine flour, water and salt well and knead into a smooth dough (you can use standing mixer or bread machine).
- Let it stand at least 20 minutes.
- Cover with damp cloth.
- Divide dough into small balls (6).
- Roll the balls thinly into a somewhat round shape, as thin as you can; if it tears, do not worry just rejoin it again.
- Put 1/2 tsp oil on the dough and a pinch of salt, spread it all over the surface.
- Sprinkle the green onion, spreading all over the surface.
- Start rolling from one end, until you have a long tube.
- Roll the tube around itself, like a coil.
- Then with a rolling pin, flatten it up to 1/2 inch thickness.
- Do not worry if some green onion comes out in the process.
- Heat a frying pan with 1 tbsp oil, and place the pancake on it.
- Fry it until golden on both sides.
- You can eat it plain or serve it with a mix of 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp sesame seeds and 1 tsp green onions, and optional 1 clove garlic minced.
