Super Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375 (*when ready to bake)
  2. Beat (with mixer) butter, both sugars and vanilla until well blended and creamy
  3. Add egg; beat until blended
  4. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt
  5. Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture, beating until well blended
  6. STIR in chocolate chips
  7. Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour
  8. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet (do not smash flat)
  9. Bake 10-12 minutes or until slightly browned
  10. Cool on cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack
  11. **Makes 18-24 cookies, depending on size you want
  12. ** I THINK this recipe came from a Hersheys chocloate chip package (I have been using it for 8 years...not for certain)
