Apple Pie Recipe
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 cups tart apples (abt 8 apples peeled)
- 1 tbsp butter or margarine
- cinnamon sugar
- grated lemon peel
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees
- In small bowl combine cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, flour & salt.
- Add to apples in large bowl and toss.
- Put apples in pastry lined pans with apples higher in the middle.
- Sprinkle apples with grated lemon peel, dabs of butter or margarine on top.
- Top with cinnamon sugar.
- Put other 1/2 of pastry on top.
- Pinch together sides.
- Use a fork, knife, whatever to make holes on top.
- Or cut into strips to make a lattice crust.
- Bake 8 minutes, turn heat down to 350 degrees, bake for another 1/2 hour.
