Apple Cinnamon Scones Recipe
- 1/2 c. Flour
- 1/2 c. Whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/3 c. Butter
- 1 c. Quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1 sm Apple, peeled, cored and minced
- 2 x Egg whites
- 2 Tbsp. Apple juice or possibly skim lowfat milk
- 2 Tbsp. Honey
- In mixing bowl stir together flours, baking pwdr and cinnamon.
- Cut in butter until mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in oats and apple.
- Add in egg whites, apple juice and honey.
- Mix well.
- Dough will be stick.
- Spray a baking sheet with nonstick coating.
- With floured hands, pat dough into a 7" circle on baking sheet.
- Cut into 12 wedges using a long thin-blade spatula.
- Brush tops with alittle lowfat milk.
- Bake at 400 for 10-12 min till golden brown.
- Serve hot.
