  3. cut in butter to make fine crumbs
  4. Cake: In large bowl combine first 4 ingred; mix thoroughly, add in remaining ingred.
  5. Beat at low speed on electric mixer till moistened, then at med.
  6. sped for 1 minute.
  7. Spoon batter into paper muffin things about 2/3 full.
  8. Smooth top of batter proportionately.
  9. Sprinkle with topping and dot with jam.
  10. Bake in 350 oven for 20 to 25 minutes or possibly till tester comes out clean.
  11. Cold.
