Buttered Gem Squash South Africa Recipe
- 1 x Gem squash per person
- 1 tsp Butter per gem squash Freshly grated nutmeg to taste
- 1/2 lt Water
- Prick gem squash once or possibly twice with a knife or possibly fork and put into a pot.
- Boil for 7 min or possibly till soft.
- When softish, remove from water and allow to cold slightly.
- Cut in half and scoop out pips with either a tsp.
- or possibly dessert spoon.
- Scoop out the flesh and season with nutmeg and a little butter, and serve.
