Swissed Beef Steak In Sour Cream Gravy Recipe
- 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs. beef round steak
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp. dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry thyme leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 can (16 ounce.) stewed tomatoes
- 1 lg. onion, sliced
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 2 lg. carrots, pared, diced
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
- Trim fat and bone from meat.
- Cut into large square pcs; lay on plastic wrap or possibly waxed paper.
- Mix flour, mustard, salt, thyme and pepper.
- Sprinkle all of it over meat on both sides.
- Cover with another sheet of plastic wrap or possibly waxed paper.
