Best-Loved Blueberry Muffins

  1. Heat oven to 375F.
  2. Place paper baking cups into 12 muffin pan cups or grease cups; set aside.
  3. Combine milk, 1/2 cup melted butter and egg in bowl.
  4. Add all remaining muffin ingredients except blueberries; stir just until moistened.
  5. Gently stir in blueberries.
  6. Spoon batter evenly into prepared muffin pan cups.
  7. Bake 22-26 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly; remove from pan.
  9. Dip tops of muffins in 1/4 cup melted butter, then in sugar.
  10. Serve muffins with butter with canola oil.
  11. Variations: Lemon Blueberry Muffins: Prepare muffins as directed above, stirring in 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest with the flour.
  12. Raspberry-White Chocolate Chip Muffins: Prepare muffins as directed above, substituting 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries for blueberries.
  13. Gently stir in 1/2 cup vanilla milk chips with raspberries.
