Perfect Buttermilk Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F. In a large bowl combine Bisquick, baking powder and salt until blended.
  2. Using a fork, pastry blender, or stand mixer cut the butter into the flour mixture until the butter is incorporated well.
  3. The mixture will be coarse and crumbly.
  4. Add in the beaten eggs and slowly add in buttermilk as you stir.
  5. When dough is completely blended it should be soft and slightly fluffy.
  6. Flip dough onto a floured work surface and roll it to your desired thickness (I did about 3/4 inch thick).
  7. Use a biscuit cutter or the top of a mason jar to cut out biscuits.
  8. Place biscuits in a greased cast iron skillet or other oven proof dish.
  9. Just be sure to place biscuits close together.
  10. You can press the dough scraps together to make more biscuits.
  11. Then put the dish into the oven and bake for 15 minutes until fluffy and golden brown.
