Delicious Breakfast Quiche
- 1 pie crust, 9 or 10 in. (I used a 9 inch pre made crust)
- 150 grams meat of your choice (I used turkey)
- 200 grams button mushrooms
- 100 grams spinach leaves
- 1/2 white onion
- 280 ml heavy cream OR table cream (I used table cream; thinner)
- 5 eggs
- 3/4 milk (I used whole)
- 150 grams cheese of your choosing (I used pepper jack)
- 1 Olive oil
- 1 salt
- 1 pepper
- Dice your half onion, chop your meat, and slice your mushrooms as preparation.
- pour enough olive oil to cover your large sauce pan over a medium heat.
- First, add the onions in, give them a couple minutes to start.
- Next, you'll add in your meat and mushrooms to the pan.
- Let them sit for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
- When you're ready go ahead and add the spinach leaves to the mix, and mix this around really well.
- It doesn't need an incredibly long amount of time, just until the leaves begin to wilt.
- When that looks good, take it off the heat and set it aside for now.
- Get a medium mixing bowl and add in the eggs, cream, milk, and grated cheese.
- Season it generously.
- Give this a decent stir, make sure you've broken the yolks and mixed it around nicely enough that you can see the slight yellow tint.
- Now add your pan ingredients to the egg mixture, and stir it together nicely.
- Pour this into your pie crust.
- You may or may not be able to use all the mixture, I wasn't.
- If you'd like, take some of the remaining pan ingredients and decorate the top like pictured.
- put this into your 350F Fahrenheit pre heated oven, for about 30 minutes.
- It will probably take longer, but make sure to check.
- If you give it a slight wiggle and the middle doesn't seem settled while the edges start to brown (like mine did) take it out and carefully cover its edges with some foil.
- Mine took ~45 min.
