Pop Pop's Candied Yams
- 1 (40 ounce) cancut sweet potatoes in syrup
- 12 cup butter
- 23 cup brown sugar or 23 cup Splenda brown sugar blend
- 12 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place potatoes into greased 7" x 11" casserole dish.
- Combine remaining ingredients in medium sauce pan, bring to low boil and reduce until covers back of spoon.
- Pour sauce over potatoes.
- Bake covered 25-30 minutes.
- Uncover, top with marshmallows and return to oven until browned.
