Dutch Appelflappen

  1. Preheat deep fryer to 325F.
  2. Mix flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Combine with cider or beer and salt to make a smooth batter.
  4. Let batter sit for 15 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Dip apple wedges in batter and fry, a few at a time, until light golden.
  6. Drain fritters on paper towels in a warm oven, sprinkle with sugar and remove to a warmed dish.
  7. Serve with lemon quarters.
  8. Serves 4.
