Block Island Meatloaf Recipe
- 2 lbs. minced beef
- 6 pcs white bread
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 sm. onions
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Fold in bowl and form a loaf not more than 5 inches high.
- Grease pan with butter.
- Preheat oven 425 degrees.
- Put loaf in for 25 min.
- Take out and drain off fat.
- Put a spatula under loaf so it doesn't stick to pan.
- Make sauce with: 1 1/2 c. pancake syrup 1 1/2 teaspoon allspice Kitchen Bouquet to lighten brown color
- Fold in pot on low heat.
- Pour 1/3 on meatloaf.
- Set oven to 350 degrees.
- Pour 1/3 of mix on loaf.
- Baste every 20 min for 1 hour, 20 min.
