Spicy Beef Casserole
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes
- 1 jar mild taco sauce
- 1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies
- 5 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/3 c. water
- 2 c. Bisquick
- 3 Tbsp. yellow cornmeal
- 2/3 c. milk
- Heat oven to 375u0b0. Cook and stir beef, onion and garlic in skillet until beef is brown; drain.
- Stir tomatoes, sauce, chilies and
- bouillon.
- Cook until bouillon is dissolved. Mix flour
- and water.
- Stir
- in
- beef
- mixture.
- Heat to boiling. Cook
- 1 minute.
- Pour
- into 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Mix Bisquick, 2 tablespoons cornmeal and the milk until soft dough forms.
- Beat. Drop
- by tablespoon onto beef mixture; sprinkle with
- remaining cornmeal.
- Bake, uncovered, until biscuits are golden brown, 20 minutes.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
