Bohemian Bread Dumplings Recipe
- 2 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
- 1 slc Bread
- It sounds like your trying toduplicate a recipe for bread dumplings.
- My father's side of the family is Czech.
- Here's their recipe for bread dumplings, and it's a no fail one at which.
- Sift together flour, salt, and baking pwdr.
- Add in Large eggs, lowfat milk, and 2 slices of bread.
- Mix well.
- Form into two dumplings.
- Let stand exactly 30 min.
- Boil 12 min on one side and 12 min on the other side.
- Slice into 1/2-inch slices.
- Serve immediately.
- I sometimes make a double batch of these and freeze the loaves individually.
- I defrost the dumplings at room temperature.
- To reheat the dumplings, you can either steam them or possibly reheat in the microwave covered with a damp paper towel.
