Peppery Cheese & Chive Biscuits
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cracked or coarse ground pepper
- 1/2 cup cold Land O Lakes Butter, cut into chunks
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- 3/4 cup Land O Lakes Half & Half or Fat-Free Half & Half
- 2 tablespoons stone ground mustard
- Heat oven to 425F.
- Grease or line large baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
- Combine flour, baking powder, onion powder and pepper in bowl; mix well.
- Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir cheese and chives into flour mixture until well mixed.
- Combine half & half and mustard in another bowl; beat with whisk.
- Stir into flour mixture with fork just until moistened.
- Spoon dough onto well-floured surface; turn to coat with flour.
- Knead 5 or 6 times.
- Pat out to 10x5-inch rectangle.
- Cut lengthwise in half with knife; cut crosswise into 4 equal parts to make 8 square biscuits.
- Place biscuits, 1 inch apart, onto prepared baking sheet.
- Bake 10-13 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
