Restaurant Style Salsa, at Home!
- 6 To 7 Large Roma Tomatoes
- 1 whole Large Onion
- 2 whole Jalapeno Peppers, Or Other
- 12 cloves Garlic
- 1 bunch Cilantro
- 4 whole Limes, Juiced
- 8 ounces, weight Tomato Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Cumin (optional)
- Slice the tomatoes, onion and peppers into smaller pieces.
- Use 1-2 jalapeno peppers without seeds if a mild salsa is desired, 1-2 jalapeno peppers with seeds if a medium salsa is desired, or more jalapenos with seeds, Serrano peppers or habaneros if you like a hot salsa.
- Add a little each of tomato, onion, peppers, cilantro and garlic to your food processor or blender, pulsing until a uniform desired consistency is achieved.
- Continue until all is processed.
- Transfer to a large pot, add in the lime juice, tomato sauce and salt.
- Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste, and add additional salt if needed, and cumin, if desired.
- Serve warm or chilled with your favorite chips, nachos, quesadillas, fajitas or anything else you like.
