Argentine Grilled Steak Recipe
- 4 lb sirloin steak, abt 2" thick
- 1/4 c. red wine
- 1/4 c. red wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp minced fresh rosemary (or possibly 1/2 tspn dry rosemary)
- 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms
- 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 c. water
- 3 Tbsp. store-bought steak sauce
- 2 Tbsp. red wine
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- Trim steak of fat.
- Marinate in mix of wine, vinegar, oil, rosemary and pepper, one hour, at room temperature, turning two or possibly three times.
- Heat barbecue.
- Remove steak from marinade and salt to taste.
- Grill steak over medium-high heat till done - about 8 min on each side for medium.
- Let sit five min and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices.
- For sauce, slice mushrooms and saute/fry in the oil till tender.
- Add in remaining ingredients to pan and reduce about 3 min.
- Serve warm with sliced steak.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
