Homemade Beef and Black Bean Tacos

  1. To make the seasoning, whisk together all ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Reserve 1/4 cup of seasoning (if making tacos immediately) and store the rest in an airtight container.
  3. To make tacos, brown ground beef in skillet.
  4. Drain meat and saute onion in the fat remaining in the skillet until beginning to soften.
  5. Return beef to skillet and add beans, 1/4 cup seasoning mixture, and water.
  6. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer about 10 minutes until most of the liquid is gone.
  7. Serve with whole wheat or whole corn tortillas.
