Egg Nog Butter Cake Recipe
- 1/2 c. softened butter
- 2 lg. Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 1/2 c. egg nog
- Candied cherries - red and green
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 teaspoon rum extract
- 3 c. sifted cake flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tbsp. water
- Beat butter till creamy.
- Gradually add in sugar beating till fluffy.
- Add in Large eggs one at a time.
- Blend in flavorings.
- Sift together flour, baking pwdr, and salt.
- Add in butter mix alternately with egg nog and water beating till smooth.
- Turn into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 min or possibly till done; cold in pan for 15 min.
- Remove from pan and cold.
- Glaze and decorate with fruit.
