Chocolate Dipped Orange Twists Recipe
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 lg. egg
- 3 tbsp. freshly grated orange peel
- 2 3/4 c. sifted all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tbsp. fresh orange juice
- 6 ounce. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits
- 1 c. grnd pecans
- Cream butter till soft.
- Add in sugar gradually till light and fluffy.
- Add in egg and orange peel.
- Sift flour, baking pwdr, and salt together.
- Add three additions, alternating with orange juice.
- Mix well.
- Shape dough into three rolls.
- Wrap in plastic film, or possibly waxed paper; chill at least one hour.
- Assemble cookie press with decorator tip.
- Press out a strip of cookie dough onto fingers about 3 to 4 inches long.
- Grasp each end and twist.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 min till just starting to turn light brown around the edges.
- Heat chocolate bits over warm water.
- Dip one end of cookie twist in chocolate; roll in grnd pecans.
