Bangers n' Mash
- 10 sausages (I used beer soaked sausages)
- 8 red potatoes
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup half & half
- 2 tsp crushed/minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp steak seasoning
- 3/4 tsp powdered garlic
- 1 tbsp coarse sea salt
- 1/2 tsp peppercorn (ground)
- Coat grill grates with cooking oil.
- Syeam or boil potatoes until fork-tender.
- Add minced garlic while steaming potatoes.
- Heat grill to 375F.
- Cook sausages 10 minutes each side or until they look right to you.
- Mash potatoes over the butter, ensuring it mixes in.
- I used an apple corer because I don't own a masher and it worked gorgeously.
- Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Potatoes should be a little chunky; this is supposed to be a rustic meal.
- Plate potatoes.
- Add sausages on top right off the grill.
- I paired a Cabernet Savignon with the meal, but a stout or an Irish red would pair quite nicely.
