Barbecue Beef Grill
- 1 (3 lb. 1/2-inch thick) sirloin steak
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 2 Tbsp. poppy seed
- 1 c. soy sauce
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 green onions, cut into 1/2-inch strips
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. hot water
- Blend cornstarch and hot water in a bowl.
- Combine all ingredients, except steak, green onions, garlic and butter. Place steak on a deep platter.
- Pour soy sauce mixture over steak. Let stand for 1 hour, turning once.
- Saute green onions and garlic in butter until tender.
- Cook steak in a slightly greased grill, saving the sauce.
- Cook steak to your desire after basting it with sauce.
- Remove steak to platter and pour garlic and onion, mixing over it.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serves 6.
