Homemade Ginger Preserve Recipe

  1. Wash and peel ginger root.
  2. Cut into small pieces.
  3. Soak them in cold water to cover for 30 minutes, then drain.
  4. Place the ginger in a small saucepan and add 1 1/2 cups cold water to cover.
  5. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for 40 minutes or until the ginger are soft.
  6. Next, drain the ginger in a colander.
  7. After that, place the sugar and remaining 1/2 cup of water in a medium-sized heavy-bottomed pan and cook until sugar dissolves.
  8. Add ginger.
  9. Mix well.
  10. Cook 12 minutes.
  11. until thick.
  12. Remove from heat.
  13. Aside until cold.
  14. Store in an airtight container.
