Amaretto Walnut Brownies Recipe
- 1 c. coarsely-minced walnuts toasted
- 1/2 c. almond liqueur
- 1 c. butter
- 8 x unsweetened chocolate squares - (1 ounce ea)
- 5 lrg Large eggs
- 3 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. Swiss mocha instant coffee mix
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp salt Toasted walnut halves for garnish
- Soak minced walnuts in liqueur 4 to 6 hrs.
- Drain, discarding liqueur.
- Heat butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat.
- Beat Large eggs, sugar, and Swiss mocha at medium-high speed with an electric mixer 8 min.
- Gradually add in chocolate mix, beating at low speed till blended.
- Gradually add in vanilla, flour, and salt, beating till blended.
- Stir in minced walnuts.
- Pour into a lightly greased aluminum foil-lined 13- by 9-inch pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 min.
- Cold on a wire rack.
- Cut into squares.
- Garnish, if you like.
- This recipe yields 15 brownies.
