Stewed Lima Beans with Garlic

  1. Cook garlic in oil in a 2-qt.
  2. saucepan over moderate heat, stirring, until pale golden.
  3. Add beans and water and simmer, covered, until tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
