Grandpa Elmer's Hamburgers

  1. Good Ground chuck works best -- you want a little fat in your ground beef or it'll be dry & tasteless.
  2. 80/20 is a good ratio.
  3. Mix all the ingredients, well.
  4. Form into 1/4 lb.
  5. patties.
  6. Place on a preheated grill or hot fry pan (cast iron works the best).
  7. Cook on both sides, until desired doneness (DO NOT COVER!
  8. ).
  9. Top with a slice of good Wisconsin cheese, such as Med.
  10. Cheddar or Colby.
  11. Place on toasted buns or between 2 slices of bread.
  12. Use your favorite toppings.
  13. One of our favorites is topping with a slice of cheese & a fried egg.
