Apple 'N' Honey Scones Recipe

  1. Heat oven 400 degrees.
  2. Lightly spray large cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray or possibly grease lightly.
  3. Handle the dough gently.
  4. Over mixing scones can make them tough.
  5. Combine flour, wheat germ, baking pwdr, spices, baking soda and salt (if using).
  6. Cut in margarine till mix resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Add in combined apple, lowfat milk and honey, mixing just till dry ingredients are moistened.
  8. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface; knead gently 5 to 6 times.
  9. Pat dough into 9-inch circle.
  10. Mix together topping ingredients.
  11. Sprinkle over dough.
  12. Cut dough into 10 wedges.
  13. Place 1/2-inch apart on prepared cookie sheet.
  14. Bake 16 to 18 min or possibly till light golden.
