Beef Stew With Potato Dumplings Recipe

  1. In a plastic bag, combine flour, salt and pepper.
  2. Add in meat; toss to coat.
  3. In a 4 qt Dutch oven, cook meat and onions in oil till the meat is browned and onions are tender.
  4. Stri in broth, water, vinega,l carrots and seasonings; bring to aboil.
  5. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till meat is almost tender.
  6. Remove by leaves.
  7. In a bowl, beat egg; add in the crumbs, flour, parsley, onion and seasonings.
  8. Stir in potatoes; mix well.
  9. With floured hands, shape into 1 1/2" balls.
  10. Dust with flour.
  11. Bring stew to a boil; drip dumplings onto stew.
  12. Cover and simmer for 30 min.
  13. Don't Lift Cover.
  14. Serve immediately.
  15. Yield : 6 servings.
