Beanie's Shrimp Creole Recipe
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 pound peeled raw shrimp
- 1 chopped garlic clove
- 2 tbsp. chopped parsley">parsley or possibly parsley">parsley flakes
- 1 c. water
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 (8 ounce.) tomato sauce
- Heat shortening in skillet.
- Add in flour.
- Stir till golden on high fire.
- Lower heat.
- Add in shrimp.
- Cook till shrimp turn pink (approximately 3 min).
- Add in seasonings (garlic, onion, and parsley).
- Cook approximately 2 min.
- Raise heat.
- Gradually add in water, and then remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil.
- Simmer covered for 20 to 30 min.
- Serve over rice.
