Scalloped Potatoes With Pork Chops Recipe
- 6 pork chops - 1/2 inch thick
- 1 tbsp. fat
- 5 c. sliced, peeled, raw potatoes
- 6 slices processed American cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 c. minced green onion
- 10 1/2 ounce. can condensed cream of celery soup
- 1 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- Brown chops on one side in warm fat.
- Place half of potatoes in greased baking pan (13 x 9 x 2 inch).
- Top with cheese slices.
- Add in remaining potatoes.
- Place pork chops, brown side up, on potatoes.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Cook onion in drippings in skillet till tender, but don't brown.
- Add in soup and lowfat milk.
- Heat; then pour over the pork chops.
- Cover with foil or possibly a baking sheet and bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 1 hour.
- Remove cover and continue baking 30 min.
- Makes 6 servings.
