Fresh Tomato Pizza
- cornmeal
- flour
- 1 lb. store-bought pizza dough
- 3/4 c. Summer Tomato Sauce
- 1 lb. large cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 small red onion
- 4 oz. mozzarella
- Small basil leaves
- Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Dust a baking sheet with cornmeal.
- On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a 16-inch oval, circle, or rectangle and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread the sauce over the dough.
- Top with the tomatoes, onion, and then the cheese.
- Bake until the crust is golden brown and crisp, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Sprinkle with basil, if desired.
