Grammie's Pastry
- 3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 lb lard
- 1/2 cup ice water
- Measure out flour and salt into a large bowl, mix together.
- Using a knife, shave the lard into chunks into the same bowl.
- Using a pastry blender, work the mixture, turning the bowl as you go until it comes through the pastry blender in sheets.
- Gradually add the ice water, small amounts at a time, while continuously passing a knife through the pastry while turning the bowl.
- "Knife" until the pastry is lumped together.
