Maple Walnut Sticky Buns

  1. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a sauce pan.
  2. Add brown sugar and 1/4 cup maple syrup.
  3. Heat, stirring until sugar is disolved.
  4. Pour into baking dish and sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the walnuts.
  5. In a mixing bowl, stir together 3/4 cup of flour, the yeast, granulated sugar and salt.
  6. Add 1/3 cup butter and the warm water.
  7. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
  8. Add eggs and 1/4 cup more flour.
  9. Beat at high speed 2 minutes.
  10. Stir in enough more flour to make a soft dough.
  11. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and satiny.
  12. Roll dough to a 14 x 9 inch rectangle.Spread lightly with maple and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
  13. Roll up into a 9 inch roll.
  14. Pinch seam to seal.
  15. Cut into 9 one-inch slices and arrange in baking dish, cut side up.
  16. Cover lightly with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 1 1/4 hours - or until light.
  17. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  18. Let stand in the baking dish for 10 minutes.
  19. Then turn out on a large plate to cool.
  20. Enjoy!
