Apple Prune Crisp With Hazelnut Topping Recipe
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. golden sugar - (packed)
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 2 lrg Granny Smith apples - (abt 20 ounce) peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 c. pitted prunes minced
- 1/3 c. golden sugar - (packed)
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 c. unsalted butter - (1/2 stick) diced, and at room temperature
- 1 c. hazelnuts toasted, minced Vanilla ice cream for serving
- For Filling: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Butter 8-inch glass baking dish.
- Mix both sugars, flour, and cinnamon in large bowl.
- Fold in apples, then prunes.
- Let mix stand 5 min.
- Transfer filling to prepared dish.
- Bake till beginning to bubble at edges, about 20 min.
- Meanwhile, prepare Topping: Mix first 4 ingredients in medium bowl.
- Add in butter; using fingertips, rub in till moist clumps form.
- Rub in hazelnuts.
- Scatter topping over filling.
- Continue baking till topping is golden brown and juices are bubbling thickly, about 20 min.
- Cold slightly.
- Serve hot with ice cream.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
