Granola
- 5 cups rolled oats (not quick oats)
- 12 cup sesame seeds
- 12 cup pecan pieces
- 12 cup walnut pieces
- 12 cup sliced almonds
- 12 cup packed brown sugar
- 6 12 tablespoons corn oil or 6 12 tablespoons canola oil or 6 12 tablespoons safflower oil (any light, flavourless oil will do)
- 12 cup maple syrup
- 2 12 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven to 400*F.
- Toss together the dry ingredients, making sure to crush any errant lumps of brown sugar.
- Mix the wet ingredients together' then pour over the dry mix and toss thoroughly.
- Bake the granola on a baking sheet for 35 to 45 minutes, scraping and turning the mixture a few times to ensure even browning.
