Apple Raisin Scones Quaker Oat Bran Cookbook Recipe
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 c. margarine
- 1 c. Quaker Oat Bran warm cereal, uncooked
- 2/3 c. dry apples, finely minced
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/3 c. water
- 2 x egg whites, beaten
- Heat oven to 400F.
- Lightly spray a cookie sheet with vegetable veg.
- oil spray or possibly oil lightly.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking pwdr and cinnamon; cut in margarine till mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in oat bran, apples and raisins.
- Add in combined water and egg whites, mixing just till moistened.
- Shape dough to create a ball.
- Turn out onto lightly floured surface; knead gently 6 times.
- Pat into 9 inch circle on prepared cookie sheet.
- Score dough into 8 wedges; don't separate.
- Bake 18 to 20 min or possibly till light golden.
- Break apart; serve hot with jelly.
- Makes 8 scones.
