Daiquiri

  1. Shake liquid ingredients with ice.
  2. Strain into chilled glass; garnish with lime slice.
  3. Apple Daiquiri: Add 1/2 oz.
  4. (1 Tbsp.)
  5. Calvados or other apple brandy; garnish with an apple slice brushed lightly with lime juice.
  6. Banana Daiquiri: Increase lime juice to 3 Tbsp.
  7. and add 1/2 oz.
  8. (1 Tbsp.)
  9. Triple Sec (or banana-flavored liqueur), 1 small ripe banana, and 1 cup crushed ice.
  10. Combine ingredients in a blender.
  11. Cover and process at medium speed until smooth, about 15 seconds.
  12. Pour into chilled large wineglass; garnish with lime and serve with straw.
  13. Cherry Daiquiri: Add 1/2 liz oz.
  14. (1 Tbsp.)
  15. cherry brandy and 1/2 tsp.
  16. kirsch; garnish with lime.
  17. Derby Daiquiri: Add 1 oz.
  18. (2 Tbsp.)
  19. fresh orange juice; garnish with orange slice.
  20. Frozen Daiquiri: Add 1/2 oz.
  21. (1 Tbsp.)
  22. Triple Sec and 1 cup crushed ice.
  23. Combine all ingredients in a blender.
  24. Cover and process at medium speed until smooth, about 15 seconds.
  25. Pour into chilled glass; garnish with lime.
  26. Frozen Fruit Daiquiri: Prepare as for frozen daiquiri, adding 1/2 cup chopped fruit (melon, peaches, or strawberries).
  27. If desired, substitute 1 tablespoon flavored brandy or liqueur (such as peach brandy for peach daiquiris) for the Triple Sec.
