Banana Cream Pie

  1. Combine 1/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt in small bowl.
  2. Stir in 1/4 cup milk and egg yolks; set aside.
  3. Combine remaining 1/3 cup sugar and 2 cups milk in saucepan.
  4. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
  5. When mixture reaches full boil, remove from heat.
  6. Slowly stir 1 cup milk mixture into egg yolk mixture.
  7. Return all to saucepan.
  8. Bring to boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly.
  9. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  10. Remove from heat.
  11. Stir in butter and vanilla.
  12. Let stand until cool.
  13. Slice 2 bananas; arrange in bottom of pie shell.
  14. Add filling.
  15. Garnish with sweetened whipped cream.
