Balsamic Glazed Sirloin Steak Recipe
- 3/4 lb Boneless sirloin steak, (1/2-inch-thick)
- 2 tsp Sesame seeds
- 2 tsp Vegetable oil
- 2 x Garlic cloves, chopped
- 1/8 tsp Dry warm red pepper flakes
- 3 Tbsp. Medium-dry Sherry
- 1 Tbsp. Soy sauce
- 2 tsp Balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp Honey
- 1 Tbsp. Cool unsalted butter
- Pat steak dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Spread 1 tsp.
- sesame seeds proportionately on one side of steak.
- In a large heavy skillet heat oil over moderately high heat till it begins to smoke and add in steak, sesame-seed-side down.
- Spread remaining tsp.
- sesame seeds on top of steak.
- Cook steak 1 1/2 min on each side for medium-rare meat and transfer with a slotted spatula to a small platter.
- Keep steak hot.
- Pour off almost all fat from skillet and add in garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Cook garlic mix over moderate heat, stirring, 10 seconds and add in Sherry.
- Boil mix till almost all liquid is evaporated and remove skillet from heat.
- Add in soy sauce, vinegar, and honey and bring to a simmer, stirring.
- Add in butter and stir over low heat till incorporated.
- Spoon glaze over steak.
- Serves 2.
