Best Whole Wheat Bread Recipe
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening plus 2 tbsp.
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 c. cool water
- 1 c. very hot water to dissolve yeast in 3 tbsp. yeast
- 4 teaspoon salt
- White flour
- Scald lowfat milk.
- Add in shortening, sugar and stir till dissolved.
- Add in whole wheat flour and beat rapidly.
- Add in dissolved yeast and cool water.
- Mix well.
- Add in sufficient white flour to make a soft dough.
- Let rise till double; punch down and turn over in greased bowl.
- Let rise till double again.
- Shape into 3 loaves.
- Let rise and bake at 350 degrees.
