Easy & Low Cal Chewy Taro Root Gratin

  1. Place the taro root in a heat-resistant bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
  2. Microwave until soft enough to stick a toothpick through easily.
  3. Once they have cooled, peel the skin and mash with a fork.
  4. Melt butter in a frying pan and cook the thinly sliced bacon.
  5. Add the taro from Step 2 and quickly cook while mixing with the bacon.
  6. Add the ingredients and simmer until it thickens.
  7. Once it has become this thick, it's done!
  8. Divide into portions and arrange on plates.
  9. Top with lots of cheese and bake in the toaster oven until the cheese has become nicely browned.
