Pluckets

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water.
  2. Add 1/3 cup sugar, butter and salt to scalded milk.
  3. When cooled to lukewarm, add the dissolved yeast, eggs and just enough flour to make a stiff batter.
  4. Cover; let rise until mixture doubles in bulk.
  5. Knead down; let rise again.
  6. Roll small balls of dough about the size of walnuts; dip them in melted butter.
  7. Roll each ball in a mixture of 3/4 cup sugar, the ground nuts and the cinnamon.
  8. Pile balls loosely in ungreased angel food cake pan; let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for about 40 minutes at 400u0b0 and for 10 minutes at 350u0b0 until brown.
