Apple Flake Crunch
- 6 cups apples pared, cored, sliced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- 13 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 2 tablespoons butter r margarine
- 1/2 cup corn flakes
- 1/2 cup flour, all-purpose sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon orange zest grated
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Preheat the oven to 375 Degrees F. Arrange the apples in a greased 10 X 6 X 2-Inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle with 2 tablespoon of sugar then with 3 tablespoon of orange juice.
- Work 13 cup Brown Sugar and 2 tablespoon butter until creamy.
- Add the next 4 ingredients and mix until crumbly.
- Spread on the apples.
- Sprinkle with 3 tablespoon of orange juice and dot with 1 tablespoon butter.
- Bake in a moderately hot oven of 375F (190C)., for 45 minutes.
- To Serve: Serve hot or cold with whipped cream if desired.
