Delicious Sweet & Salty Granola Bars
- 1 cup Honey Roasted Peanuts Or Lightly Salted Peanuts
- 2 cups Oats
- 3/4 cups Wheat Germ
- 3/4 cups Flax Seeds Or Sunflower Seeds
- 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cups Honey
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 teaspoons Coarse Sea Salt
- 1/2 bars (3.5 Oz. Bar) Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate, If Desired
- Crush peanuts in a plastic bag until finely crushed.
- Mix nuts, oats, wheat germ, and seeds in a baking dish and toast in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Stir every 3 minutes or so.
- Grease a baking dish or use foil in the baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt sugar, honey, butter, vanilla, and salt until everything is melted and simmers.
- Put the toasted oat mixture in a large bowl and gradually stir in the liquid ingredients.
- If you are using the chocolate, break or chop the bar into small pieces and mix them in.
- Pour in the baking dish and let cool completely.
