Quicker Potato Gratin with Bacon

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Microwave potatoes and water in covered microwaveable dish on HIGH 6 to 8 min.
  3. or just until potatoes are tender.
  4. Meanwhile, melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat.
  5. Add onions; cook and stir 4 min.
  6. or until tender.
  7. Stir in flour; cook and stir 1 min.
  8. Gradually whisk in milk.
  9. Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  10. Simmer on medium-low heat 3 to 5 min.
  11. or until thickened, stirring constantly.
  12. Add cheese; cook and stir 2 to 3 min.
  13. or until melted.
  14. Place half of the potatoes in bottom of 1.5-L casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray; cover with half the cheese sauce.
  15. Repeat layers; cover.
  16. Bake 20 min.
  17. or until heated through.
  18. Let stand 5 min.
  19. Sprinkle with bacon.
