Prescription Sazerac

• 1/4 ounce absinthe
• Ice
• 1 ounce bonded rye whiskey, preferably Rittenhouse 100
• 1 ounce VSOP Cognac
• 1/4 ounce Rich Simple Syrup
• 3 dashes of Peychauds bitters
• 1 lemon twist

1. Rinse a chilled rocks glass with the absinthe; pour out the excess.
2. Fill a pint glass with ice.
3. Add the rye, Cognac, Rich Simple Syrup and bitters and stir well.
4. Strain into the rocks glass, pinch the twist over the drink and discard.
