Simple Roast Beef with Thick Onion Sauce
- 600 grams Beef chunk
- 1 - about 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Black pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic (grated)
- 1 Rosemary (or thyme, depends on your preference)
- 1 onion Grated onion
- 4 tbsp each Soy sauce, mirin
- 3 tbsp Red wine or Japanese sake
- 1 tsp Grated garlic
- Coat the meat with salt, pepper, garlic, and rosemary and let it sit at room temperature.
- Heat in a pan and add the meat.
- Cook each side at medium heat for about 2 minutes.
- Once each side has cooked, cover with a lid and cook at low heat for 6 minutes, turning over occasionally.
- Then wrap the meat in 2 sheets of aluminum foil and let sit for about 30 minutes.
- Heat the remaining broth in the pan together with the garlic and the onions.
- Add sake, soy sauce, and mirin and bring to a simmer.
- Cut and arrange the meat and pour the sauce over to complete.
