Old Fasioned Blackberry Jam Cake

  1. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and blackberry jam.
  2. Beat thoroughly.
  3. Sift the flour, measure and resift with soda, salt, and spices.
  4. Add alternately with buttermilk to the first mixture of sugar and eggs.
  5. Beat well.
  6. Pour into well greased tube cake pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees (175 C.) for about 55 minutes.
  8. Use a caramel frosting for tradtional icing.
